Default Ugh CV boot

I noticed that the driver side CV boot is tore open and the greese inside is gritty, i belive this calls for a new cv shaft right? its on the first boot comming out of the transaxel. Im not to sure on how much they cost either, all i know is i cant do it my self. I dont think that cv is running out of life but who knows.

it'* no biggie , if u have tackled something like that before does it sound bad?
if not i think u could get away with just a new boot.
good luck

Rule of thumb.....once you tear a boot, unless you know it happened in the last 5 minutes, replace the shaft.......and to go further, do BOTH at the same time if you can afford to.

Yup...I agree with willwren. Since you don't know how long the boot has been torn, extensive damage may have already been done.

When I had my half shaft replaced, they told me the half shaft was cheaper then the boot itself and its easier to fix. Kind of a no brainer to me.

Good luck
