Bug guts.
Seeing as my Bonnie is not very aerodynamic, I have a LOT of problems with bug guts. I washed my car today (outside, too. COLD!!!) and I couldn't get them off. I also have tar on the aluminum accents on the bottoms of the doors, also wouldn't come off. I have tried three types of bug and tar removers, but nothing so far has worked. A friend said that kerosene takes it right off, but i don't trust random chemicals on my car, especially flammable ones. 
Any suggestions?

again with the random flammable material, though. I don't want to damage my paint or anything. Or worse, have some dumb smoker walk by my car, drop his cigarette, and set my car on fire it'* happened

It'* probably going to take solvent especially for the tar, which is going to be a flammable chemical. Just be careful, as with any hot chemical...

Dont use gasoline on your paint. It will eat away at the clear coat. I think Rain-X came out with a windshield washer fluid that help get rid of bug splats on the windshield. As far as the tar probably have to keep on using the bur & tar remover. Saturate it, & let it sit for a lill bit. Then grab a soft bristle brush and scrub at it, while spraying the spot. That worked for me last time I had a hard time removing tar from my sides.

The real trick? Easy. Buy a wash mitt with the sponge in the middle and the netting on the outside. Get 'em all off. Then wax your headlights, turn signals, bumper, license plate, etc, with a HARD wax (like turtle wax). Not a soft carnuba. They'll come off much easier after that.
