update on peel and seal - also 1 question
feel free to reminisce
http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=19284
so i got this stuff all put in, and finally got the system in to test it. WOW, i love it!
the bass is great, and no more trunk rattle at all!!!!!!!!!
i still need to do my doors and under the back seat, so another 33.5' should do me.
i would suggest this to everyone for the price.
and for all you negative thinkers, here are the CONS: slight odor for the first few days, has gone away, not sticking completely in places where i had to stretch it around tight bends, this can be fixed by slicing it though.
AND NOW MY QUESTION:
all the trunk rattle is gone, but i still have rattle. air is leaking out all 4 door seals, i just tighten'd all the doors by about 1/16", just enough to make them close nice and tight. on the rear doors, it sounds like something is rattling inside the handle mechanism. also, the left taillight rattles because the black horizonital stripes that are delaminated (about 4 of em) are rattling pretty good, but that can be fixed by glueing them down. the BIGGEST problem is my rear bumper. Pontiac did a horrible job of mounting this, as the bottom of the bumper can move about 5-6 inches no prob. if i put all my weight down on the bumper from the top, all rattle deceases, does anyone else have this problem, and if you did fix it, HOW??

well its all in fun, i learned so much doing it. i actaully didnt rip out all the stuff just to do the peel and seal, but that helped. i was checking for all my leaks, and got them all fixed. i dont believe i will have any issues, cuz if this stuff doesnt stick, its not gonna go anywhere. if it doesnt help, oh well...no biggie

Well I've used weather stripping in the areas that still rattle, even areas that are dynomated, use it for a cushioned spacer between whatever is rattleing, license plate and rear deck against the glass, etc.
Good luck, rattle hunting is ALWAYS FUN.
