Default Harmonic Balancer Installer

1992 Bonneville SSEi

I'm trying to install my new HB but the center bolt that came with the install kit doesn't fit into the center opening of the HB. I googled like mad and haven't found similar problems, am I doing it wrong? And what do i do with my HB bolt. What happens if I reuse my old one and what do i need to torque it to?

Thanks.

Verify that you ordered the correct HB kit. Do you still have the old bolt to compare it to?

You can reuse it, but I don't recommend it. That bolt is a torque to yield. That means it'* stretched.

Oh. I have a write up on removing the HB in tech info. I believe it says what size bolt is needed. It'* not included in the HB puller kit.

Edit: Here it is. https://www.gmforum.com/mechanical-134/harmonic-balancer-replacement-286278/

line up the key and push it on then tighten the bolt just like in dans write up you must use a brand new bolt as stated they are torque to yeild and stretch tighten the bolt and torque to 111 ft lbs the rotate the bolt another 76 degrees this is the stretch just like dan said in his write up then put the splash guard back and the wheel start it up make sure your belt is tracking right and if so away you go
