The 00'* got an aluminium pan and GM sells that sealant if you get the pan gasket from them for your existing pan.

I noticed the aluminum oil pan on my wife'* '04 LeSabre compared to the steelie on my '98 LeSabre, and was jealous of its coolness.

I wonder though, is it confirmed that the shape of this '05 pan on EBAY will fit around all the suspension, mounts, etc. on older cars (especially the '99 and older car)?

Also, since a new oil pan gasket (with baffle) for your old pan can be gotten for about $25-$30 (or a tube of RTV for $3-$5), would this "fix" be cost-effective?
