Had vacuum modulator changed today...

So I had my mechanic change out my vacuum modulator while he did the brake fluid, I had noticed since I got the car my 1-2 shift was kinda harsh as times. He suggested the Modulator..part was only $15 lol..and guess what, the car shifts like brand new!!! What a cheap fix  Gotta love it when $15 fixes such an issue. :D

You know you can also adjust it. Pull the tube off and turn it with a flat head screw driver to make it smoother or harsher

:stupid:

you want to feel the shift, if you dont, that means the clutches are slipping more and will where out faster.

Which way do I turn for a more harsh shift? Clockwise or Counter-Clockwise?

willwren 10-14-2007 11:26 AM

IF it's adjustable, clockwise (standing at the front) is harsher. Don't go too harsh though. Small adjustments over time are best.

Well it was a "Pro King" from Advance Auto Parts....know if that's adjustable?

Get a mirror and flashlight, and look inside the vacuum port. Do you see a slot inside for a screwdriver?

Will look this week and get back to you, bit dark out now for that

I'm guessing that is what the flashlight is for.

Thanks Captain Obvious  I know I know, I also failed to mention my level of laziness tonight, infact, I'm off to bed  Will check it this week though.....
