Default GM part number database

Does anyone know of an on-line database of GM'* part numbers? I need a part number (so that I can buy the component on gmpartsdirect.com) and the dealerships won't tell me the part number!! They'll only tell me whether or not it'* in stock and the list price. UGH!!!!

If nobody knows of an on-line database of the part numbers, then does anyone know of a way to "trick" the dealers into giving you the part number?!?!

Just post your requests for part numbers in the "Wanted" forum. We'll be happy to oblige. There are 4 or 5 of us with most of the numbers.

you can buy a one year subscription to www.alldatadiy.com for $25. It has a lot of part numbers and just a whole crapload of information about your vehicle. It also has lots of diagnostic charts. My subscription has paid for itself many times over, just in one year.
