Default Removing the lines from the abs module

I have been working on a rotted line issue on a 1997 Bravada. The line from the front to rear burst. I put in a replacement line but am planning on having a firm in Michigan scan the factory line and duplicate it.

While they are scanning, I noticed some of the lines from the ABS module which then connect to the calipers are looking worn. I am thinking about pulling them and having them scanned and duplicated.

My question is- will I cause a ABS bleeding issue by pulling these lines and leaving them off for a week or so? I read on this board that ABS bleeding is a dealer only (tech 2 scanner) fix.

Typically you can rebleed the system by using a power bleeder (say by Motive or another company) and simply do a normal bleed. If that leaves air in the system, then you need an ABS bleed.

Thanks Bill! Did bleed with the Motive pump last night, noticed that the rear brakes bleed much slower, almost snail paced when compared to the front using the Motive. Not sure if it is due to the rear lines come off of one line and have three junctions and the distance, as the fronts have their own line direct from the ABS box and 1 /10 the distance. The Motive instructions don't mention that performance is different between front and rear.

I've noticed the same on the cars I've bled. Usually I go for 20lbs on the rears. Helps to push it back there.

Thanks again Bill. I was way under pressure- heard 15lbs was the pressure for Bravada/ Blazer/ Jimmy and went to the factory service manual and it states the charge is 20-25 psi air pressure.
