Is green antifreeze ok?

I took a sample of antifreeze from my radiator and it is clear of particles, but it is green. I recently added some Prestone 50/50 to the recovery tank just to bring it up to the right level, and the Prestone color was a light goldish color. Since it is green, does that mean something is wrong or that just the color of the antifreeze the previous owner or shop used?

Also since it's a clean green, that means I do not need a flush anytime soon?

I would assume it had green in it first and what you added didn't change the color much. What color is the fluid in the tank?

the same green color, I only had to add a little prestone

You should be fine, as long as it says "Compatable with DEX-COOL and Conventional Coolants" on the jug.

The G05 "all makes/all models" is a pale green color. If that's what is in your car, you should be fine. As it's a 90, assuming the vehicle in your signature, it's more likely that it is the standard ethylene glycol formula. Standard Dex and original green do not play well together. As Nate said, check the coolant bottle to see what it shows for compatibility.

Being a '90, it didn't have Dex in the first place, right? Conventional green should be well enough.
