A little dirty... But the engine was burning pretty good...
What was your milage before the change? Highway? With a 2.84 you should see 30mpg easily

town mileage 14, best ever highway mileage on long trips to florida was 23-24. :(
this is with no WOT, rapid acceleration for me in this car is hitting 3000 rpm! haha
so I have replaced the o2 sensor, on to plugs and wires, I have pulled off the first boot, and I see BOSCH on the old plugs, jeezzz.
looking for improvements in mpg
replacing with ac delco standard plugs and blue napa wires.

Yes some Good AC Delco Plugs, and wires will help... In the future when you have the time and money I do reccomend a swap to the Delco II ICM and Coils, and then a set of NGK TR55 Plugs... I have done as good as 31 on my 91, and that was with me going over the posted limit on the interstate...
Worst I did was 13mpg in town and 22 on the road with a Bosch O2 sensor... Now the norm is 19-21 in town with the AC On... lol

Gotta have the AC in Florida
I actually had the delco module and coil set from a 1992 98 I think, for a month or so. Then I percieved it'* miss to be getting worse and payed money for new magnavox module and coil, so since those were expensive, I have to stay with them for now.
back outside now.

I used to know a service manager that had a 91 SE with the 2.97 gear ratio and he too always pulled better than 30...
On my 95 with the series II I generally do from 29-32 depending on how heavy my right foot gets..
The 3800 C, 3800 L and 3800 K are all SFI engines and should pull some pretty good interstate MPG'*... Unless you have an SSE with the 3.33 gear ratio..Then you might max out at 27-28
