Got a little scare today.
Had some free time so I decided to work on my winter tune and load it up on the car. Leaned it out, upped the idle a bit. Went to load it up, clicked load, ack, forgot to turn the key to run, so I quick turned it. Better hit abort and start over. I finally get things going and it wont connect. I try it again, still wont connect. never seen this error before. I try to start the car, and nothing. It just cranks. Talk about a sick feeling. The PCM is screwed, the computer wont connect. I ended up unhooking the battery in the car, disconnecting the HPT cable, and reboot the computer and hope for the best. I bring everything back up and go to connect. Finally, I get a connect and reload the tune. The car started up. That was a bit stressful.
I've got the tune all loaded and went out for a run. There I was, going 35mph and I put it down. Broke the tires loose. Wow.

I thought I was going to come in here and learn that someone just got a "Honey, I think I'm pregnant" chat.
Nothing like the feeling in the pit of your stomach when you think you've totaled something and its not recoverable. Glad it all worked out!

I have learned to tap down the throttle 3/4'* of the way, and when I feel it downshift shift and know the converter is locked, slam the other 1/4 throttle down and engage the nitrous spray. She burns up through 2nd gear and chirps nicely into 3rd. Anybody got a 50 spot I can borrow. Gramps now feels like filling his bottle. Glad to hear the PCM reset.

I've found that even though winter tires give better grip on snow, they are usually a softer compound and break easy on pavement. Jeeeez Dan, I'm wondering with your tuning knowledge gained, and the new goodies to put on, where all this is all going to take you. Into the 12'*, or somethin broke. Or both. hehehe.

Your post made me think of my old sig line, and I thought it was appropriate to share it again:
We expect things to break, look forward to realizing exactly what happned, and then obsess about dropping plenty of cash to rebuild it stronger so we can run it hard as hell and break again. We are sick individuals
