Default possible new car, let me know what you think

Im looking to buy this car:
http://www.showauto.com/viewfull.asp?ID=834880
I looked at it before and like it.

Downfalls: - Front bumper has long white scratch from an accident in 1998
no major dents or push backs
-looks like an SUV opened their door into the rear drivers door I think PDR can
take it out, but it is a 2 inch crease
- Rear bumper cover has a crack where the right Plate light mounts and other
scratches on bumper from people leaning bags on the trunk while opening it.
- its a black car so it has numerous hairline scratches on it
- passenger front seat has a cigg burn on it, but I smoke anyway, although I am
never that carefree with my habit it doesn't bother me too much

Good things: The rest of the car looks nice and mechanically seems to be a champ, engine
and tranny are smooooooooth and running really well, only has 60K.
Engine looks really really clean, even though I know the dealer can do that,
it makes it easier on me as I hate a dirty motor even if its a sixbanger N/A

Ive had my share of performance cars and high performance for me equals high maintenance and now I want a nice looking car that has some get up and go and reliable. What do you guys think, they guy hasn't really advertised it too much it sits in the back of the dealership and he'* had it for about 1.5 months so Im going to start my offer at 2400 and see how high it goes up, but bottom line I think Im going to buy this car even if for 3 grand. What do you guys think? Give me your opinions please good and bad :P

Also please forgive my long post just want to get out all the details. Thanks again

Looks pretty clean to me from the pic, but keep in mind a really clean motor at a dealer may mean the dealer tried to hide something. Although with those few miles, there shouldn't be anything to hide.

You're going to have to go with your gut on this one, and it sounds like you know your cars. They're tough, reliable, and pretty torquey. Especially the lighter SE. (SSE adds about 400 pounds, with the same drivetrain, but has better handling).

Exactly my thing. If it'* clean, but not spotless that'* better then being spotless.

SSE only handles better if you get the ones with better springs

I'd say that'* a lot of body damage for that car, especially a 60k mile lifetime, i'd keep your eyes open if i were you. Also consider things like wheels, spoilers and grill types, many people are put off by that grill style, and bubble butts. It isn't a base model because it has ABS, but keep your eyes out.

The engine isnt so clean that you could eat off it, just compared to the other cars I been looking at I was shocked. The damage isnt too bad when you are looking at it, I think when I describe it it sounds worse, but thats every thing thats wrong with the car. What do you guys think I should offer, and then what do you think I should stop at? Thanks for the info.
Forgot to add it does come with a 3month 4500mile warrentee.

I have a spoiler lined up at a junk yard for $80 its black and good condition, also I believe a black bumper cover for around $120 and am working out a deal on the silver crosslace wheels from a member on here, I like the crosslaces I had em on my GTA TA both gold and black, they are just a bitch to clean all the dust off them.
What do you think its worth, since you guys know more about Bonnies than I do right now. Since all the important info is here. It was a one owner trade-in, I carfaxed it. Thanks again for the info Also I dont mid the grill I think it looks pretty nice, but maybe Ill modify/chnge it if I see something.

http://unionautosale.com/_wsn/page4.html Better pic, all the way down on the left. Thanks again

Go for it. mid to lower 2000 sounds like a good starting point like you suggested. It'* a 93 so it'* got goodies that the 92 doesn in the engine.

Well go with what you feel, it looks to me with a nice coat of wax, she would look almost new!
and with 60K on that motor I can tell you that it has lots of life left in it, if proper maintence is preformed, mine is at 160K now, still runs pretty good, no engine issues, leaks, nor does it burn oil.

Seems like a decent car for that price, or lower! Especially with 60K miles which is like a 1/4 of it'* lifespan at least Just look it over thoroughly and do what makes you happy.
