i need to find a rebuild kit and i was wondering if this is good or crap. if its crap, where could i find a good rebuild kit, perferably a performance kit.

No, if you want that, you buy the kit you just found to get the basics, then one-up each individual component you want to beef up from hard-parts suppliers, and toss the generic matching part from the kit.

Not if you have a 4T60.

The good trans rebuilders have the contacts and know where to get stuff.

ZZP told me for my 4t60 on a 1995 bonneville that they can do a performance rebuild, -hd upgrade, new axels, ect for 2600 installed out the door price.

Does that include a shift kit?

I thought the T trannies were for trucks and the L's were for cars?

T is FWD
L is RWD

Regardless of car or truck.

Transverse and Longitudinal. Drivetrain orientation.

T= transverse mounted
L= Longitudinal mounted

Wow 4 of you posted simultaneously kinda confusing if you dont realize it :lol:

ZZP put a n/a 3.8 into the 12's with thier built 4T60-E So I think they can do it.
Dynotech also builds 4T60-E's.
You should really think about changing the solenoids along with that kit.
Heres a 2nd cluth pack with an extra steel plate.

3.43, 3.33, and 3.73 gears can all be used in the 4T60 using factory parts too.

I think what fantastic is getting at is that for the most part, those are OEM quality parts.

If they'd started with that kit on my trans, not much would have been used in the Zilla. I know DrJay's build left alot of the kit too.

All my clutches are heavy duty, as are all my hard parts. Most of my seals were upgraded as well.

A full shift kit and all new solonoids were also installed. And my Diff was custom-built from scratch with all hardened parts.
