thinkin about gettin a 98 ssei
he, my name is Damon im new hear and just wanted to get some information on these cars. My uncle knows a guy that owns a dealership and hes got a 98 ssei for sale and said he would sell it to me for 4000. The car is fully loaded, all power, tan leather interior, and power moonroof. The car looks like new. Theres only 71,000 on it. Any info on the cars would be apperciated. Im looking for some cheap preformace upgrades or anything like that. Thanks

Just by the price and mileage, go for it. That is a excellent deal. Look at it yet? Check for common symptoms. I'll let the Gearheads tell you as I am going to bed right now.

ya i have looked at it. the only problem with it is that the center council doesnt stay shut. other than that it was spotless. I have been looking around to see how much they were going for and ive noticed that its a good price

Hi Damon. I do not know much about SSEi'* other than they require premium fuel. However the Bonnevilles in general tend to really get attached to ya! I have owned this body style (1990) since 1995 and still love em. I still miss my first H-body (Olds 88 Royale)
SSEi'* are the top line Bonneville. You won't find more knowledge anywhere about them than here. There are more than several accomplished gearheads who know these things in and out.
Welcome and hope you get to own one! And just on the surface, $4k seems really good for a well kept 98. Local dealer here has a 98, with 110k for 5100. Just to give you comparison.
Edited to add, SSEi are top line for 1998 at least, someone decided to throw a GXP trim out there I think in 2004

Since you already have the username j/k, might as well go for it. Sounds like a very nice deal. Welcome to BC. Get some pics up when you can.

well i went in and talked to the guy today. we figured everything out and he said the best he could do is 5000. which from what i have seen that is still a good price for the car. I have to wait until tuesday to get it because none of the banks are open monday. im paying 5386 for everything including tax and title.
