Default A Seemly Common Occurence with the older Bonnevilles

I was driving my SSEi the other day and it was goind fine and doing fine and poof all of a sudden one of the fuel lines under the car ruptured and all of my gas leaked out. Luckily my car didnt catch on fire or anything otherwise I would have been SOL. I know how to fix it so I didnt post it in the mech. breakdown section but this is the forth bonneville I have had this happen too, Apparently this is a common occurence? Or do I just keep buying northern cars? Thanks for any input guys.

Never heard of that happening to a Bonny before. North or South.

well in all reality, the other times have been one fuel line, the rest brake lines and tranny lines. But I was so upset because I just spent money putting gas into thecar not even a couple of hours before hand. So monday evening i get to crawl under the car and see the damange and what section needs replaceing. what is sad is that i also need a pump because mine is starting to get weak but i am dreading going into the tank to get it.... dropping them suckers isnt fun, or at least not for me lol!!!

I had a leak around the fuel filter fitting, quickly fixed.

And a little bit around the tank (fibreglass resealed ).

I had to replace both fuel lines last year, and the tank. Oh yeah, and a new fuel pump. But I do live up North.

You patched your tank with fibreglass?

Hmmm odd. My '94 SSEi was a Ohio car it'* whole life, underside was spotless, along with the fuel lines, brake lines, and tranny lines. Only rust I had was a few little spots on the inside seam of the doors, and on the back below the trunk seal.
