Octane boost

I don't see how it would hurt the car since it adds octane which means that you'll run less KR. However, I"m interested in the ones that has supposed Nitrous additive in it too.. haven't tried it yet though.

I met a neighbor of my brother-in-law who had a '92 SSEi. We chatted for a while and in his conversation he mentioned that when he got the car it ran great. Recently, however, he was trying to save money by purchasing 87 octane and adding 104+ to it (an octane booster). After two tanks, his car began to knock and his plugs became very fowled. I don't know whether it was the additive or whether he was just abusing his car in some other way. I play it safe and run the 92-93 super unleaded.
This probably doesn't help you, but I thought I would share it anyway.

Octane boost can you spell RIPOFF????
About a year ago consumer reports tested fuel additives and supposed octanboosters. It money down the drain for the most part. There were a couple that made some improvement and I can't remember which ones. Stick to 93 octane and youll keep your injectors clean and your emissions down. With that said about two or three times are year I drive over by Carraway Raceway and mix in a haly a tank 104 blue fuel at the exxon. I think that'll do more for you than majic in a bottle. Oh yeah I used STP oil and gas treatments for about 25 years but now I just use synthetics in the engine and tranny and burn premium fuel. I'm one if those old geasers you were talkin about.
