Default keyless enrty Transmittery BINGO

so thru my travles i have acquired a few different key fobs, and talking to Mr keyless entry (Don) we both have learned a thing or 2 about the keyless entry systems in the Bonnevilles

in the early years of the Bonneville 90-91 GM used a 103T or a 104T transmitter
this Transmitter had Plastic buttons

from the years 92-95 GM used either a 302T or a 303T transmitter for the Bonnevilles
this trans mitter had rubber buttons (which suck)

my GOAL was to change my Pontiac 303T to the plastic buttons

so i came across a Buick regal with the key Fob on the junkyard....i comapared this to a 303T Transmiitter that i had found from a Park Avenue......

here is the 104 on the left, and the 303 on the right

104 on the bottom 303 on the top

now here you can see the difference in the buttons

the only modification to the Pad that is needed to adapt the newer buttons. you need to cut out the pad so it will clear the screw hole in the Fob

assembled and ready to go

now i went out to the car to test....OMFG the plastic buttons are SOOOOO much better than the orignal rubber, you can feel the actuall click as apposed to the soft mush feel....

i recommend if you can find a key fob with the plastic buttons you make the swap

That'* a good idea. You're right, the rubber buttons make it feel a lot cheaper. You're not always sure if your pushed the button correctly for it to do anything.

Default Remote Keyless Entry in a '90?

If I buy the correct key fob will my bonnie recognize it or is there more to it? Because I'm reading my 1990 brochure and I see remote keyless entry was an option back then.

you MUST have the AU0 option code on your RPO sticker that is found in your trunk

with out that its not going to work
