Dependability? Half of pontias cars use some of the most reliable engines ever, the LS1 and the 3800....

Oldsmobile was available in 2003, the year this report was issued for, it will not be seen next year. I dont think the whole thing is related to mechanical dependibility or interchangibility of powertrains, its build quality, fit and finish, consumer satisfaction and overall finish problems per 100 vehicles.

A Toyota is probably more mechanically dependable over the long term, but a Buick or Cadillac has a better build quality then a Honda Accord or Toyota Camry. I would like to see where GM vehicles rate in long term mechanical dependibility in comparision to the other manufacturers. The only thing GM has going in that department is interchangable parts and overall design over the last 20 years, but I'm rambling now :?
