How about jackets? I don't see them anywhere on-line, although I have a nice one I got from the dealer some years ago. (Thanks to my shedding over 50 pounds, it no longer fits; I need a large instead of an extra-large... 8) )

BonneMeMN 08-14-2003 06:23 PM

Wanna sell the jacket? What kind is it anyways...

No. 8) Realistically, it's kind of faded anyway from lots of wearing, although it doesn't have any rips or stains on it. Holding up nicely...

It's a light jacket, thin cloth material, zippered front, red body and black sleeves, with a small "Pontiac" and the Pontiac shield embroidered on the front.

Hang on, I'll go look in the closet downstairs...

Okay, I had it backwards: the body of the jacket is black; the sleeves are red. It also has a red collar around the neck. The brand on the inside says "Swingster" (Yeesh... :? ). Made in U.S.A.

I got it from Sullivan Pontiac in Arlington Heights, IL back when I got the car in 1996. They had _tons_ of official Pontiac clothing: in winter all the staff wore insulated winter coats with Pontiac racing logos all over them, etc.; in summer they had lighter jackets with similar decorations. Some of their stuff you could buy over the counter in the Parts department; other stuff you'd probably have to schmooze a salesman into handing over. I'm sure he would if you were teetering on the edge of buying a new SSEi from him...

Yeah, but where the heck is all their clothing???

I mean, back in the '80s they had all kinds of cool stuff you could order. I got a nice Members Only-style jacket in light gray, came with an embroidered AC-Delco logo and your choice of GM division logo. I got Pontiac, of course, but you could even order GMC if you wanted.

I'm not talking about dressing up like a walking NASCAR billboard; I'm talking about nice discreet casual wear that you can wear to an office, etc. Like right now, I'm wearing a dark green polo shirt that's a souvenir I got from the Gateway Arch in Cincinnati. It's got a small "GATEWAY ARCH," "ST. LOUIS" and an outline of the arch itself embroidered in white. What's so hard about GM coming up with similar stuff?

95BonnevilleSESC 08-15-2003 10:21 AM

Cincinnati? You mean that you purchased a St. Luis Arch shirt in Cincinnati, Oh?

Wierd :bluetwitch:

BonneMeMN 08-15-2003 07:11 PM

Ah, yes, Cincinnati (Civic Motto: "Three 'N's, One 'T'")... Been there quite a bit, mainly around the northwest side to visit customers at a couple of General Electric sites. It's a little strange that they have their airport over the border in Kentucky, though... :-) Finally switched to flying into Dayton instead, then driving south. (Anybody here tonight from Dayton? Woo-hoo! Thanks, you've been a wunnerful audience, and don't forget to tip your waitresses; I'm here until Thursday...)
