Need to know the year of the engine and ECU model and year. More than likely, you have to have the security tuned out of the ECU.

If you want to keep things simple, I highly suggest getting a ECU, harness and trans from an older 3800. 1995-1999. Preferably 1997 because you can use HP Tuners or EFiLive to tune it, and you don't have to bring the accelerator pedal with it.

Right now, you are looking at a logistical wiring nightmare by keeping the 2001 system. The engine probably won't even run if it doesn't see the BCM. This will not be a plug-n-play setup.

That wouldn't be worth it to me I've located, a wiring loom that hasn't been cut, and electronic pedal, and a bcm module, can anyone get me a wiring drawing to connect all this together, or the loom that connects to the engine loom then into the cab

Your best best bet, is to go to any GM dealership, and get copies of the schematics you need........ALL THE COMPONENTS must come from the same vehicle....you don't say what vehicle( or what vehicle it is going into) the PCM and BCM come from....you will run into communication problems if every module does not have the same VIN number....

The nomenclature changed from ECU (engine control unit) to PCM (powertrain control module) in OBDII
