So lets see, what I have here is seats, ride options, fluids, struts... anything else? My parents are going to kill me if I get another Bonne and then something catastrophic happens again ("Why can't you just get a little Toyota??")

I went to the dealer tonight and tried to pull a VIS for you, but it no longer exists :( GM only keeps them for so long and then they disapeer.
A lot of you basic things will be what keeps the car in good running condition.
See if you can wiggle the pulley of the */C
Take a camera with you and make it look like you have a bachelor'* in photography.

Doesn't anyone else think $3000 is too high for 160,000 miles!? Seems high to me :?
$3000 for a good reliable SSEi is not bad, don't get me wrong. And if you are getting the money from your old car I guess that makes it easier. Hopefully the tranny is in good shape or has been rebuilt already. It would stink to have to sink money into a new tranny in a few thousand miles.
EDIT: Definitely check the tranny fluid. Proper procedure is to check it hot, in idle, after going through all gears for a couple seconds.

It'* about right for those miles around here per KBB.
Look over the lower intake gaskets. Look for seepage. You'd want to do them soon enough no matter what b'ville you buy.
Overall..the items pointed out are the big things.
