Both those cars are very nice, I especially like the interior. This whole topic is turning out alot different then i thought it would :o
I figured the SSEI and GTP would be running neck and neck w/ the Riv a distant third. L67 rivs have the 4t65e HD right? Also what year SSEis have a 65E and what years have a 60E?

Either 4T60E-HD and 4T65E-HD are good transmissions. The 4T60 is vaccum controlled the 4T65 is PCM controlled. Both work well but Intense can not burn a PCM for the 4T60 (DHP can) other than that all other performance options are available for both.

Do you know what tranny my aurora has (maybe something w/ an "80 in it)? And is it any good?

I know Oldsman had a fun fun experience with an Aurora's transmition when he got one started driving off the lot and about 3 miles later the tranny started slipping! :lol:
I heard that the torque management on the Auroras take away some of the fun away from the vehicle.

This is good information to know, but which cars have which tranny?
I know everything 98 and newer has a 4t65 but how about before that (96-97 years)
Im assuming the 97 rivs have a 4t65 because its on intense's list for PCMs.

If you are younger expect to pay $300 more a year for insurance on a riv vs a GTP or an SSEi, many insurance companies go off the number of doors.


They consider the Riviera a "coupe" not a 2 door sedan.





I personally like the features of the SSEis, like the HUD and lumbar seats, however I'd settle for a Riv if it was super cheap, they can be had for $4000 for a NICE riv, vs $6000+ for a nice SSEi of equal miles and condition.

For '97 Vin K Bonnevilles the trans is the 4t60-e, however Intense still offers a PCM :D

This isn't entirely true. My insurance company rated the Riviera as a "low risk" vehicle. They didn't really mention anything about it being a 2-door car.

i say go with the bonnie (not trying to be bias) its the biggest sleeper and has some nice luxury to it, IMO

on a side note, did any 97-99 rivieras come naturally aspirated or were they all supercharged?
