Bonneville Club Promotion

Bonneville Club Promotion
I am putting out a challange to all active members.
All you who enjoy this club as much as I do.
Let'* do some promoting to give our group the respect it deserves and attract more members.
Posting a picture and snappy interesting informative write-up and submitting it to local newspapers as an article.
Sound silly? I know it would work
I have done this many times over the years in local newspapers. They cry for free submissions. It helps sell their advertisements.
I am planning to do it for our paper after this summer'* Meet. Visualize a dozen people standing next to my SilverBullet with its drag slicks smoking.....and me holding the trophy.
....OK, I can dream.....but you get the picture.
Then under the picture a write up similar to the one Bill interviewed for in the GM magazine.
I would love to help work on a form article that everyone across America and Canada could put into their local rag.

Sounds great, but I would lose the racing image. With all the anti-street racing stuff in most cities (which is a good idea), the race theme might cost you the free promotion. But, a pic from a meet with people and their cars would probably generate much more interest.

I agree with MOS on the racing theme. Mostly because my experience with local papers is that they tend to be a bit "fuddy duddy" and mostly lean towards the conservative side. The idea is a good one though.
As far as the burnout pics. I truely think someone should submit a high quality, high res pic to Car Craft Magazine. They have a Burnout section they publish every month in print. Pics can be submitted online at carcraft.com. Almost all their stuff is RWD, so it would be sweet to have someone showing what the Bonnies are capable of,
IMO.

Some small local papers are eager to find fresh material to fill in the spaces between city comission meeting and church gathering articles. You know, like when they highlite the local little league team and little Johny Dogood, who hit the first home run of the season.

I was joking about the smoking tires.
Actually I was thinking about posting a picture of all our cars together, what we call a group shot, with Bonneville Club Flags flying proud and each driver leaning up against their Bonne.....the classic shot.
