I would use multiple applications over a hour of pb blaster and then try fuel filter.
Chevron Techron Concentrate 1oz per gallon and a good hwy run helps.
Still nothing beats removing the throttle body/sensors and using TB cleaner to remove the hidden gunk/carbon build ups in ports and intake itself.

i work at advance and the 2 best sellers are seafoam and lucas. ive heard horror stories about Valvoline, and have experienced hell with gum out products. what ever you do, dont touch gum-out!

friend of mine used gum out in his 500cc go-kart. next thing i know, he is calling me. jets in the carb were completely clogged, and i filled a funnel attached to the fuel filter and dumped in about a cup of carb cleaner just to see what would happen. only got a "drip, drip, drip" out the other end of the filter.

Of course that'* going to happen. When using solvents to clean fuel systems, you have to remove all filters. Otherwise, where else is the gunk going to go?

Beerbarrel, don't worry about the upper plenum. There is nothing inside that carbon build up is going to hurt. Not even performance. Just get the TB clean inside and out and reinstall the TPS correctly. Otherwise you will have issues. Also, do not use TB cleaner on the MAF sensor. Use a MAF sensor cleaner only. Which surprisingly, sits right next to the TB cleaner.

I can't believe SeaFoam is not listed. I have a 3.4L impala. I buy a can of the gas tank additive. I also buy a spray can of sensor safe throttle body cleaner. When I add the sea foam to the gas tank at the gas station with the least amount of gas in the tank as possible pour in the SF and then fill up with gas. The spray TB cleaner can be any make as long as sensor safe.

chevron techron if you look at the bottom of the bottle it is exactly the same part number that the dealerships use for there "fuel system" cleanings. also a throttle body cleaning is easy with a small hose the size of the brake booster line.stick the hose in a can of sea foam and let er smoke.as far as an injector cleaning.use the proper canister cleaning system with shop air.

If you have something like an injector problem, adding these additives to the tank is not going to fix it.....

You use this stuff, as a maintenance item, not as a fix.....usually the horse is out of the barn, by then....

PB Blaster for the fuel filter bolts.

For an fuel system treatment you want something with PEA in it, as it is a solidly performing cleaner. Chevron Techron Concentrate, GumOut with Regane, or Redline SI-1 are the easiest to get a hold of.

FWIW, GumOut All in One and Redline both have upper cylinder lubricants in their formulas as well. I've used all three without issues over the years.
