Default Looking at buying 2002 SE

I posted earlier about my brother looking for a car in the lounge discussion, well, in our search we have run across a 2002 SE Bonneville with 30,000 miles exactly for ONLY $13,100! The Kelly Blue Book value on this car is $16,400! It has bose stereo, black leather interior, traction control, cd player/cassette, silver paint, onstar, and I'm probably forgetting a few other options. I'm strongly encouraging him to get this car, that is a GREAT deal! The only buying factor is really insurance because he is 21.. The car dealer said that the insurance on this car would be extremely high. I really hope he gets it though, the engine, transmission were really strong in it. It rode great, and the interior was awesome looking on it. This entire car was in immaculate condition.

Insurance on the SE for him might be better than you expect. Dual airbags, ABS, etc. These all come with insurance discounts associated with them. It would be cheaper than a sportier car

another reason that we really are looking toward that car is because the owner of the dealership personally wants his Dodge Dakota that we're trading in. He wants to buy it for his son. So he would pay that truck off for him totally (he'd pay $5,800 for it) then he knocked another $1,000 off the car price so the total for the Bonneville is now $13,000 instead of the previous, original, $14,000. Other dealers only offered him $4,500 for trade-in on his truck.

he would jump on it, but he hadn't been saving his money so he doesn't have a down-payment either. He only has like $900 for a downpayment, and that isn't much..

Well, I wonder how long that deal can be kept. I think that he should get on it right now.

well, we had to pass on the Bonneville. Insurance on it was close to $900 every six months. He'* paying $680 every six months for his Dakota right now. A regal GS was $760 every six months.. He'll probably be going with a regal if he can find one. The one we found for $7000 with 70,000 miles already sold. (it was only at the dealer for 5 days!)
