3800 engine idling question???
My '00 SSEI I just recently purchased idles in Neutral(car warmed up,no A/C, Accs,or fan running/ turned on)at around 800-850RPMs with a Rough, choppy idle,...no SES light comes on.My '97 GTP that I had used to idle AT 750rpms(which I'm pretty sure that'* the factory spec)and was electric-motor smooth at idle.Is this a problem I should deal with or should I just blow it off?Wouldn't a bad wire or spark plug or dirty injector show up as a trouble code?I've already dumped a bottle of injector cleaner in the tank.........to no avail.Thanx for any input......

Not sure if it would or not. Could be a bunch of things - plugs, wires, dirty injectors. Tough to tell. You may want to start with plugs and checking the resistance of the wires. How many miles are on it?

......car'* got 37K miles it,I put 1000 miles on it in the first month since I've had it,had the rough idle since I bought it.Doesn't seem to have any hesitation at all or power loss, but the rough idle is bugging me.My '97 GTP,on the other hand, had 67K miles on it,had the original NGK plugs in it(not sure why GM put Jap plugs in the Pontiac Grand Prix..but they did),and it ran smooth, idled smooth, like it did when the car was new.I'm not real happy with the rough idle and I'm taking it back to the dealership garage this Friday,...they said they would check it out. :?
