Would it be advantageous to remove the */C cover just before the winter or leave it on until spring????
Will it help w/ heating up the car to make it more comfortable quicker or is it mostly looks and doesn't really help all that much ???

I wouldn't think that there would be a noticable difference in the warm up time of the engine/cabin of the car. I would assume leave it on because it traps a lot of heat into the motor.

If you want it to heat up quicker leave it on. I always take it off because it lets the heat of the blower escape easier, reducing KR and therefor helping your car go faster.

Our cars have sensors called knock sensors that detect knock in the engine before you ever can. To relieve the engine of the knock producing condition it will pull timing and power until the condition is relieved. Heat tends to help lead to this condition so by leaving your cover on you are keeping the engine warm (good for heat) but also in a likely condition to produce knock (bad for power).

This is a good discussion. After doing my boost bypass adjustment, I left mine off. It does seem to run a hair cooler. Not much, but perhaps a degree or two.
Does anyone know of someone who makes those screened covers for 00'+ models. I like the ones P-dad, Will, etc... have on theirs.

I have found no noticeable differences by removing the sight shield (engine cover), if there is its unoticeable unless you have a tool that measures engine temps per degree F or C.
When I had mine off, it didnt result in faster heating up/cooling down times. And I also have a plastic (composite as GM calls it) upper intake.
