After a few weeks of not having any time to fix the Bonne, I'm finally back in action.

It all started with a broken power steering belt a few weeks ago. While it was off, I figured I'd check the status of the other belt and supercharger coupler. Pulled that belt off, and noticed a good 1/16" of play in the coupler. So I decided to let her rest and ordered the coupler.

Upon trying to re-install the other belts so I could drive her for a couple more days until my coupler arrived in the mail, I knocked the coolant pipe for the heater core loose, and she was gushing coolant. I appreciate eveyone who helped in getting that problem resolved BTW. $0.94 later, no more coolant leak (bad seal on the pipe).

So last week I finished the coupler install and proceded to install the blower back on the car and get things back together. Well apparantly I didn't clean the the old gasket material off the blower and lower intake as well as I thought I did and ended up with one hell of a vacuum leak and horrible whistling noise at about 3000 rpm. So yesterday I pulled the blower (again) and went up to the Buick dealer to pick up another $9 supercharger gasket. I spoke with a technician that said the gaskets can possibly leak on the nosedrive end of the gasket sometimes. Sure enough, that'* where mine was leaking from. I saw the marks on the gasket where air was seeping in and it was bent down slightly on the end of the gasket.

So installed the new gasket after thoroughly cleaning both mating surfaces yesterday, adn slapped everything back together. Man I missed that TORQUE! She runs smooth as hell now and no more rattling from the blower. Also got my 180º drilled t-stat installed while I did all this and she runs much cooler now.

Good news! Now you can work on the SHO! I know the feeling. It'* like waking up all over again. Thanks for sharing the experience. So it was the SC outlet gasket between the SC and lower intake on the ND end that was leaking? Even after torquing?

I don't have the SHO anymore... It'* all about the L67 now. I sold the SHO when I got my Bonne. The SHO had seen it'* better days. Someone smacked it in the RR quarterpanel and that when I threw my hands up. 193k miles and she was on to a new owner. Maybe I'll get one agian someday to mess around with, but for now I had to call it quits. 2 SHO'* in the past 5 1/2 years, and way too much money down the tubes in repairs on both (at least a good 5 grand).

Will, yes the gasket was leaking at the nosedrive end because I didn't follow directions . I didn't do a thorough cleaning of both surfaces before slapping it back together. You should have heard it. Sounded like choochoo train at 3 grand :o . All is good now though.
