Thats why having the cruise controls on the steering wheel is so nice. You barely have to move your hand at all, depending on how you hold the wheel. Not sure why this didnt get adapted to the 00+ Bonnevilles, but its a nice feature for us Intrigue folks.

Radio controls are on the left side of the wheel, cruise controls are on the right.

'04 LeSabre has the cruise controls on the wheel, too. I love that.

It's been interesting for me to read about people's preferences / differences in the older vs. newer styles on Bonnies. It's also interesting to see how the LeSabres differ from the Bonnies...

For example, the OP says the older Bonnie has way more "stash spots" than the newer...with the LeSabre, it's exactly the opposite. My '98 has, apart from the pockets behind the front seats, the armrest, and a dashboard about the size of a kitchen table, absolutely no stash spaces, while the '04 has lots of shelves, drawers, pockets, hidey-holes, etc.

Although my cars both have split-bench, I also agree that the older seats are preferable. The '98 is like sitting on a comfy couch, while the '04 is like sitting in a Euro-car (kinda stiff and impersonal).

As to HUD, my '98 doesn't have it. The '04 has it, but I don't care for it. Call me weird.
The steeply raked windshield on the newer car took some getting used to, also.

Overall, the biggest difference I see is in build quality. I would say that the '04, while incorporating alot more "modern" features, materials, and build techniques, just seems alot less ruggedly constructed than the '98...even though it somehow weighs like 500 lbs more :?

(I do like the look of the newer car, though :) )

I agree as well being a 95 to an 04 owner. I also miss the light in the center console as well as the underhood light.


I believe the rear trunk switch is a security issue if you valet park, but wouldn't an on off switch in the trunk do the same thing? ;)

I miss the location of the trunk switch big time.
