f@*%ing terpentine belt

just like it says. "lift the engine"?????? This has failed twice in the last 40K miles.

Masterbm 10-04-2005 08:59 PM

wow. Do you have bad pulling some where

Falcon123 10-04-2005 09:07 PM

Yea. THe second time it was caused by a bad pulley. THat was another 200. The belt was 350

Could you possibly put the year of your bonne in your signature ( you have no sig as of yet).

I am only familiar with the pre 92 Bonnie's and on those all you have to do is move the rad bottle, and take the tension off the belt and remove and replace.

When your belt is failing, is it actually breaking?? or is something binding, causing it to fall off then getting caught in the other pulleys then breaking???

The belt was 350 what? Dollars? That's regodamdiculous.

Depending on what year.. pull one bolt/stud and slide the belt in..

First time out it took me 45 minutes.

I certainly hope not... I hate hearing people getting royally ripped off like that. :(

Lift the engine to replace the serpentine belt? I can do my belt in no time...I really doubt that is different for other years..

S2 SC has a bolt in the torque axis mount that needs to be pulled out as well as a spacer. Then slip the belt in.
