Mileage on the bonne
is there an average mileage at which the intake gasket seems to go?? im pushing 86,000 and just wondering...

Do you mean the upper intake manifold and its cracking problem?
I have seen 80 -100K...if we are on the same page here, keep an eye on the coolant and watch the oil when you change it

Mine went out at 66,000. The only indicator I had was #3 cylinder misfiring alot and the #3 plug kept getting fouled. 
Then one morning it wouldnt start so to the dealership it went to get fixed under warranty.

ok i yea i ment the warping/cracking.. i was 1/2 asleep when i wrote it. anyway, i was just wondering im @ 86,000 on the original intake according to the manufacturing indications on the top of it

It somewhat applies to the Series I as well, but mostly the Series 2. SC models don't have the problem. Any 180 will do, as long as it fits! I also suggest an additional tranny cooler to keep the overall drivetrain temps down.

I'm not sure if */C and N/A use the same themostats, but your local part store should have a cross reference table to tell you what 180 stat would work with you car
Do 95'* have the plasic intake, or is it another one of those things where they made some with and some without?

All NA 93-current use the plastic upper, but the design changed somewhat in 95 with the Series II. Some 92'* use a one-piece aluminum, but others use the plastic upper.
All SC and NA Bonnevilles use the same stat.
