When we were leaving I saw a Black 97-99 SSEi sitting under a blanket of snow. I asked my buddy what the story was, and he said it had lost oil pressure and they couldn't find the problem. They parked it and bought another one and that had an engine failure. He said the body and interior on the black one are in great shape. I imagine the LIM'* failed and trashed the engine, either way it will most likely need a new engine. My buddy said he will ask if he is wanting to sell it and get me in contact with him. From what I saw briefly it is Black on Black with chrome T-Stars

Does anyone have thoughts on this?

If you have the spare cash and can fix it easy, ya, go for it. For the right price you could fix it up and sell it.

That'* what I was thinking. It'* basically scrap to him as he isn't mechanically inclined. I was going to offer him 300-500 and put 500-700 into it and maybe sale it for 3K? Is that unreasonable? I might keep it as a winter beater.

A SSEi of that age is worth about $3500 average. Scrap it'* worth about $250, offer him $300 or $400 and it'* a deal for him, and a deal for you.

Scrap prices here are about 120-150 for a whole car. I was going to offer 300 as a starting point.
