Talking Turn your car into a Toyota

Who needs a sticky accelerator, factory floormats, or a checkbook big enough to handle import dealer prices? You can turn your Bonneville into a Toyota in just three easy steps.
  1. Remove throttle position sensor.
  2. Twist clockwise when reinstalling.
  3. Start engine.

I wanted to take it out on the highway, but I don't think I could have made the turn out of my driveway. Killed the engine, pulled up Dan'* writeup (again), and then put it on counterclockwise.

I'm sure there'* a lesson here.

ROFL take it out to the highway, park on the side, and then turn it back

I just thought of something. If you did this and then stepped on the gas would it close the throttle?

Very nice, I did that when I changed a TPS and didn't think to switch it around and try again

The throtttle itself isn't open, the sensor just thinks it is. The car is still somewhat driveable because the MAF, MAP, etc. are telling it what is going on

I was wondering about that too, but I also realized that if the throttle is wide open, the car won't start.

You know the easiest way to turn your car into a toyota? Accidentally step on the accelerator instead of the brake, then try a panic stop using the noise pedal and never shift into neutral or shut the engine off. Also, make sure not to pull your foot off of the noise pedal until you have thoroughly scared all the other motorists and have convinced yourself that your car is possessed by Satan and that someone owes you money and a new car.
