Default Red Pistons?

When I changed my oil pan gasket I noticed the underside off my pistons were red, like they may have gotten hot before. Does that mean anything? Sorry no pictures. I also just did a tune up and my plugs looked like there burning good.

Generally, thats just from the oil, if they got REALLY hot in the past, the engine would probably suffer from a few issues, and they would be somewhat blue in color..however..the engine would probably sieze up before that happend.
You are good to go my friend

Cool thanks, I didn't think it could be too bad since it still runs fine. I just thought it was a little odd to look like that. Once in my ownership it did get two quarts low on oil and the low oil light did come on. That hasn't ever happened again, now I check it more often and have to add about a 1quart every 1k to 1500 miles. I was thinking that may have had something to do with it.
Thanks for the reply
