Default Supercharged!?!

Well, today I finnaly test drove that L67 LSS. Let me tell you, WOOAA, that car can MOVE. No BS it chirped into second @ 45mph. However, it has one problem that sounds bad. When at idle, in drive, there is a rumble, clatter, rumble sound that comes from under the hood. Is the supercharger on the fritz or what?? Its a 95' with 225hp and 275 tq. Another thing is it idles @ 900rpm in drive, is that normal? I thought most cars idle between 500-700rpm.

Could possibly be the harmonic balancer. I know it is one of the most common troubles of the Series I L67'*.
P.*. There weren't many Sereis I L67 LSS'* made. Thinking about buying it?

Yes, the dealer said he would drop the price under $3000 so I don't have to pay sales tax. Now, the harmonic balencer. How much would it cost to replace that?

You MAY be able to find one at a junkyard for cheap.
Look for a rear-ended car.

Please don't buy a used balancer. GM really messed up with them and they all required replacement and if you get a used one you are most likely going to get one that may fail sooner than later. A new one aftermarket cost me $200 CAD and that was about 5 years ago and it is still going fine.
You really have to find out what that rattle is under the hood before you make a purchase here. Supercharger pully (cheap), alternator, or balancer, these are the main things that go creak in the night at idle. Either way you are still looking at under $300 to fix any of it. Get the dealer to pin it down for you.

It could be a bad coupler too.

My thoughts were to replace the $30 part, and not the big one first
