drain plug
 

what size is the drain pulg? so i dont have to go through 20 million different sizes. i gotta change the oil here pretty soon. just gotta find the oil filter, and then get a new one.i told my mom to get one today but she said they didnt have one with the # i gave her(i gave her the one in the owners manual) but i guess the number would be different with a FRAM. is the number in the manual for an AC Delco oil filter?

In most cases, the drain plug is tightened and loosened using a 14mm wrench or socket according to CHILTON'S 1986-99 Bonneville/88/LaSabre Repair if that helps at all

Care to elaborate please? Just put a Fram on mine and need to know if I should up the next change...

Well, looks like my next oil change will be sooner than planned. Again, thanks for the great info folks!

i dunno my entire family has been usin frams ever since i can remember.and the Society of Automotive Engineers gave them a 96.2% single pass efficiency rate.at least that sounds like a real organization. instead of just some guy who went out and bought a bunch of filters. besides most of the time when you buy Delco even though they make good products they tack on some extra cause of their name.

the 96.2% was for the Xtra Guard and it only gets better from there. just thought id clarify

Im sure all of the oil filters tested meet the society of engineers requirements but the article looks at the best contruction and compares them with each other.
I'm not saying that fram is a poor filter, I know lots of folks who have used them for years with no worries, but given all choices I will still use delco.
Besides as long as you change your oil and filter regularly I dont think you'll have any problems with the fram filter and who knows maybe you'll save a few bucks too :D

I just dont see the point in having a reason behind getting a sertain oil filter. ill just use a napa filter, its going to need to be changed with every oil change regaurdless.

well i had my mom pick up a delco on her way home... why do you guys have to be so convincing? ill probly get ripped a new one for the price but at least ill feel more confident.
