Do these magic fuel and oil additives really work?

I say no. but I got everything pictured below for only $7 + tax.

6 bottles of fuel injector cleaner (each bottle is 2 regular car servings)
2 bottlles of oil additive
2 bottles of emissions stuff...

Each item was $1 a piece. Did I waste my money? should I go buy more of them? I know the fuel injector cleaner is not a complete rip off at $0.50 (only takes half bottle for my car since its 18 gallons)

What about the other stuff...does it actually do anything for a high miles motor?

Anyone have any real life experience vs speculation that "them magic stuffs dont not work"

the super expensive $1 (normally 16 or something lol) of magic engine oil or whatever...It would be nice if it even did something.

Sea Foam, Toluene, or Race Fuel do the trick for me. ;)

any of them?

i'm tempted to buy all 10 or so of the xentx since they are only a buck a piece...cheaper than seafoam. but if I'm wasting money and will see no improvment or negative results I'll put the wallet away.

the fact that a $16 product is $1 and nobody wants it at that price may mean something lol. the emissions stuff I can understand since no-one in idaho cares about that but the oil additive seems like it may help slightly.

You could always give them as Xmas gifts to everyone you don't like

Junk.

Chinski Mar 15, 2007 08:31 AM

I would stick with sea foam or GM top engine cleaner. And leave the oil alone.

Yeah, the only additive I use now is Seafoam, lord knows I wasted enough of my money on the other stuff out there

My dad always told me additives were a scam and for dumb-assse, I suppose even with the advance in technology he is still right.

I might toss that crap in there for craps and giggles.

I use the fuel injection cleaners and fuel line antifreezes. Although I only buy them when there on sale like you did.
