I'm really bad when it comes to making command decisions, especially when cars are involved. A week or so ago, I ranted on how much trouble this car is giving me, and how much this car is living up to its nickname. I had thought about just slapping the back seat back in it (removed it to remove my amps), taking it down to the stealership, and get something else. I am afterall spending nearly as much on it every month as a car or truck payment in upgrades and repairs (though I haven't spent too much on it lately).

Right now, it sits in the garage with the front on ramps, rear end on jackstands. Fuel tank is out and has been inspected by both myself and Don (to which he said that had to be the worst case of baffle breakage he has heard of), fuel pump on the garage floor (found to be all original and still working after 178K), exhaust off the car.

So why keep it? Why not?? The body, aside from a few paint imperfections, is near perfect. The undercarriage, aside from being a little greasy, is near perfect as well. No rust, all the suspension still wears it'* black paint, and has all new struts and urethanes. I spent many hours and much money on the transmission (which is holding up very well), and though the engine isn't in the ideal environment, it too is holding up well. In fact, I would like to think that after the fuel system is addressed, it shouldn't need much else mechanically, if anything.

This car constantly tries my patience. It'* been Frankensteined back to life, and will more than likely continue to offer its little quirks even when its current ones are addressed. But, it is what it is...my little project.

Brad..I understand the feeling. Work through it and you'll be rewarded. I've put many hours into mine and it'* got the occaisional quirk....meanwhile it'* great to drive.

Someone said that if it has four wheels and a motor, it'll give you trouble. Some more than others.

Eventually you will get all the problems taken care of, think of this way, it'* better paying an equal amount of money fixing a paid-off car than paying a car payment and fixing it.

Keep working and tackle each problem one at a time.

I've debated everything from selling it outright to parting it, putting all the new parts onto the SSE, selling the powertrain and scraping its carcass. But after thinking about how much work has already gone into this car, it makes me sick thinking about how much of a waste all that work would have been for.

Oh snap. It'* just like marriage

I have new mods planned as well. Don already knows what I have already done, and it will drastically shorten the engines lifespan if not executed correctly (yet another reason I dropped the fuel tank), and I WILL have to get a new MAF and have the injectors done up. Along with some other bits and pieces. Plus I am finishing up my Impala 9C1 rims so I can deep-six the Aerolites.

i'll be pulling mine of te road any day now... im just plan sick and tired of the way its driving, im just gonna hand it over to my mechanic (family friend) and have him fix the issues on his own time.... Two years of it not running right is enough for me. (I wish I did the S2 swap when the motor blow last year)

I'd say keep it. You know the car - it'* problems, it'* history, it'* quirks. A new car will just have problems and quirks that you don't know about yet. It sounds like you've just about got this one nailed down, why sell now?

Especially having a good solid body and no rust on the bottom. Moving parts will fail on you, but at least you've got a solid base of a car. It'* worth putting money and time into. More than can be said for most of us up here in Michigan...
