Default which one would be better? 88sse or 95se.? need thoughts.

whats up everyone , i am making a important descision right now.. very important and i need all of your thoughts on this one. ok here is my big descision...

i have 2 cars as most of yous already no.. and for those who dont i have a 88 sse and a 95 se. i will have to make a choice on what car i want to put my MONSTER stereo in and create a contest car. one of a kind.. but i dont no which one to choose.. i have a wife and 2 beautiful kids.. my daughter is 4 yrs old and my son is 8 months old...here is a small list of each car and its current condition..

88 bonneville sse-- 78,692 miles------ all metal and solid.. built safe.
needs seats and interior.
needs drivers floor seat mount welded as its rusted out and broken.seat wobbles
needs paint and body work. has some decent rust spots thru the driverside back wheel
needs drivers door as lock was RIPPED out horribly..
well into the trunk . actuall holes. and the front wheel well also on drivers side.
motor and tranny run extremly strong for its age.. it drives like its millage.
car looks mean and aggresive and has plenty of potential for my creative mind and ideas...

95 bonneville se--115,274 miles-------- dual front airbags but the car is half plastic..
leather interior
sunroof
very strong running motor. very well taken care of.
tranny is awsone but needs a mount
needs paint job and some body work.
car has some minor bad rust on the bottom of the back door jams
interior is clean and nice
car looks classy yet sporty and conceiving at the same time.
has plenty of room and some pontential
might need a new catco and exhaust real soon..

can i get everyones idea on what i should do ...

or here is option # 3- sell my 88sse and buy another bonnie from 93-99.

hmmm....tough choice. I have always been a fan of the 88 SSE, and of course I am partial to the 95 SE. (since I had one)
I'd say go with the 88 for the show vehicle, it'* pretty uncommon. The 95 makes a great family vehicle, I have twe little ones myself. Also, since it'* teh SE, it doesnt quite have that wow factor that an SSE/SSEi would have.

Not really, the unibody is almost exactly the same between the two structurally wise. The 95 has better brakes, more power, and airbags.... The only real "plastic" on the 95 is the front fenders, which aren't going to aid in crash protection if they're metal anyways.

Well, looking at your options, which one will be reliable while the other is off the road? It sounds like the 95 is best left as your driver since there are not a lot of major things wrong with it. The rust you mention on the 88 would make me think you'd want to use that can and have the rust fixed while it'* getting dolled up with show stuff since you'll probably have most of it removed anyways. It is also more unique these days.

Either that, or sell one of them and but a 93-99 and use the other at the show car.
