Dealer label removal?
 

Just got a 03 SSEi and the dealer stuck a big (cut vinyl?) labe lin the middle of the deck lid. What's the best (eaisest) way to remove this WITHOUT damage to finish?

Are you sure that label is not your RPO codes for your car?

either get some "goo-gone" or some WD-40, and the edge of an old credit card or a platic razor blade (yes, they make them, no they aren't easy to find)

Spray it down, let it sit for a few niutes, then start working at it from the edge--the solvent will loosen the glue so it takes less scraping motion.

then just wash-n-wax when you're done

I used an old credit card and a blowdryer to remove the little dealership markings on our explorer... cannot even tell they were there. Hold the dryer to warm it up enough and use the edge of the CC to lift it up. Then I washed the area off with some water... dried it and apllied two coats of wax to that spot. It looks good!! Good luck and patience is def. a virtue in a situation like this.

i like mine cuz its cool dealer that sells some sweet cars and are known for their nice buicks and is one of the biggest area but maybe ill take it off someday

I always have the dealers remove the labels for me.

A few years back, one dealer refused until I outlined my advertising fee. I told him that I drive an average of 18,000 mile per year, so he would only have to pay me $0.10 per mile to have his name on MY car. I guess his advertising budget was already spent for the year. 8)

I very carefully used an Xacto knofe and fingernails, the Goof Off to remove the remaining glue. A coat of wax later and you couldn't tell it was there.

Yikes... I _really_ wouldn't want to use an X-acto knife for that; it can and will slice through the paint if you slip just a bit. A hair dryer and old plastic spatula will work fine for this. (On a really hot day you can forget the hair dryer; just grab a corner and pull.) Bug and tar remover or mineral spirits should remove remaining adhesive (try the bug and tar remover first); be sure to wax it after that.

Have the dealer take it off. Like someoe elese said, unless they're willing to pay for advertising.
