Default stock cupholder question. what year is it from?

o.k i was lucky enough to find a new un scratched or cracked cup holder in a bonneville at the yard and for some reason my 95 has the exact clips where the cup holder is supposed to go but the peices on the cup holder that are supposed to snap into the armrest are a lil bigger then the holes in my armrest.

my question is was the cup holder made only from 96 and up and wont fit my 95 se or was the cup holder made different like 92-95 and 96-99.?

i would really love it to fit. if not then i sell it on the site here to the best offer..

According to what I know, it'* basically that the 96-99 models have just that little change to the center console. I don't know why that is, but it makes no sense and helps no one. I think it might be just that the thicker plugs don't break as easily. How did your cupholder break? There'* not much to read on that discrepancy on this forum, so this thread should help spur some more interest.

Even 92/93 cupholders are not the same as 94/95. I believe that 94/95 are the same as 96 and newer. Without pics to see, we can't tell you anything about it.

Thanks, willwren!

I guess you had your center console replaced? I've completely taken out mine, and it'll go back in sooner or later. I had a terrible water leak this winter when my single non-functioning window decided to open. That was amazingly fun. Since most of my interior is out again, I should be able to help out with a few pics if I can find my center console and my digital camera.

I can gaurantee you 100% without a shadow of any doubt that 92 and 93 are the same, but 95 is quite different. I expect 94 to be the same as 95. They are not easily interchangable.

But now I'm doubting even myself because it'* been so long since I checked. When I get home through this stinking frozen white wasteland sometime today, I'll swap between the cars and confirm at least those two years.
