any turbos around?
i was just curious if anyone who happened these forums was running a turbo on their h bods...
last week (thursday) i made a trip over to romulus engine (they make the 4.3, 5.3, 5.7 and 6.0) for a look around, and saw a display for the turbo 4.3 they put into the syclone and typhoon back in 91 or 92... and that thing made some crazy power. now it'* just killing me wondering if there are people around with turbos on their 3800'*, and what kind of power they make...

I believe the only stock 3.8 Turbo was in an early 80'* TransAm. I also believe someone around here aftermarketed a Turbo on their Bonne.

I know the people with the Turbos here make mad power.
From Intense Racing, there is a turbo'ed GP making around 500HP and running 10.6 in the quarter. That is the quickest quarter mile in a 3800 ever.

This car recently became the first ever 3800-powered FWD vehicle to exceed a 130 MPH trap speed on November 22, 2003. Our Turbo Project car is currently the quickest 3800-powered FWD vehicle in the world!. Now that the car is fully debugged and tuned, we plan to continue turning up the boost, and run much deeper into the tens in the near future.
In December 2003, we put this car on the dyno for the first time ever and shattered the all time 3800 Series II dyno record with a 655 horsepower pull! Two weeks later we did it again with a 670 horsepower pull! Read about it here...
