Hey guys, I found a dealer that has a 2001 SSEi with pretty much all the options with 111,000 on it for $8995. It seems like a good price with blue book showing $10,600 MSRP. What kinda things should I look for that may have the dealer dropping the price???

My Mom just looked at a 2000 SSEi with 52k on it. It'* a one-owner, private sale. She'* asking $8800 negotiable, and Mom said it doesn't have a mark on it. Mom didn't want it after she found out she needed to run premium fuel in it. :?

These cars are loved by us, but ignored by the Camry crowd. Good ones will sit on lots forever. There'* a dealer here that has several '05s brand new still sitting on the lot. Mom looked at one of those the other day, and it had a dead battery and two almost-flat tires. They won't bring anywhere near any book value around here.

Seems too high for a 2001 with that many miles on it. You need to ignore Kelly Blue book. It is useless for telling the true value of the car. If you want to go by real value banks use the nada book or nadaguides.com. Edmunds.com has a true market value calculator for your specific area. It isn't all that acurate either but is better then KBB. My dad is a dealer and tells me what things are worth. You shouldn't pay much more than what the dealer could sell it for at the auction. I wouldn't personally pay more than $8K for it, but that'* me.

yeah I would go with what these guys have been saying, just sems high for all those miles. I know mine is a 01 SLE but two years ago i got it for 7,000 with 96,000. but i know i got a good deal on mine.

Offer no more than $6000 cash (maybe $7000 if it is cosmetically PERFECT).

If they balk, laugh like a madman and ask them who the heck else is going to buy their 100k+ mile GM car.

(This assumes carfax OK, and no mechanical problems, of course)
