and the saga continues... (low/no oil presure...)
yup, got to a light this morning to be greated with a "check gauges" chime and the oil presure lightly tapping "0". nice... put her in netural and tap the gas and it goes up to about 10 or 15... so i go to work. taking her to the mechanic again in a little bit. you know, i love bonnevilles, but if this car continues down this path it won't last long......

not this problem. I just seem to have it in the shop one to two times a week. i didn't want to post in the mechanical sections because i'm not really looking to fix it myself. its at the shop now. I hope it is just a sensor and not something more expensive.

Not saying your mechanic is a bad guy or anything but sometimes it'* all about making money.

thats what my bonnie did, except that at ANY idle she would drop to 0/1 PSI and then upon going would climb back up to 15-60psi depending on the day i finaly gave up and traded her in

It sounds like the sender is "working." Could it be faulty? I know most fail on the high side. Mine pegged at 120 psi when it failed. Have there been any cases of the sender doing funky things like this? Is there a way to tell if it'* the oil pump vs. the sender?

Hopefully it'* just your pressure sensor... It'* pretty easy to get to, as well. Just remove the front passenger wheel, the wheel well cover and IIRC it'* right next to the water pump. Just make sure you have a vice grip around so you can get around that sucker (just DON'T grip the plastic, haha). I wouldn't hurt; I think the sensors are like 15-20 bucks...
