Default Turned key and CLICK

This morning turned the key to start and just went click, all interior lights stayed on and voltage said 14.8, turned off, tried again started right up, weird I thought, drove fine

On lunch, turned key, click, turned key again another single click. third time, started right up.

After work, no problem at all, turned the car on and off couple times and was fine. Ran some errands and started just fine everytime.

Pretty weird, if it happens once more it'* going in. gotta be a loose wire or connection somewhere.

Talked to dealer after lunch figuering something was wrong and also going to have them replace the Intermediate shaft, and fix my gas pedal shutter. Only happens when I get on it, Todd has the same thing on his 2K he was thinking motor mounts and I agree, also going to try to get a new center console, mine has some wear and the coating is peeling in one spot.

I'd have a hard time believing cable corrosion. I'd bet a stress crack inside the battery on one of the terminals. It'll read fine on the DIC, but not enough to throw the starter around.

clean the battery terminals. Baking soda will get most of the crap off.

He'* got a dual optima battery setup as well. His power delivery is obviously not the problem if he'* got 14.8 golden like that. Clean off the key, the VATs might be getting pissy, but if it worked right after I doubt it. Starter could just be wonky.

Didn't Todd say something about the trans mount, not motor mount?

this happened to me a month ago... its only going to get worse if you are turning the key and it dosent turn over but you have full power, its most likely the ignition cylinder. the dealership said these going out isnt unheard of in pontiacs or bonnevilles, i forgot what he said.... $500.

my dad is looking at a black 95 se in makato for $1000 and hte owner said hes having this problem and dosent know whats wrong... so my dad might get a steal on this one.

While I do have GM extended Warrenty so that'* why I'm making a list to get all I can from my 100 deductable.

I'm pretty sure Todd said Motor mount, besides that I had the tranny mount replace shortly after I got it at 18K

Which is part of why I retracted it. The ignition switch itself may be the problem, if it'* creating multiple contacts. This could be fixed by turning the key back and forth a few times like you said Taylor.

Does the key itself now act as the resistor? Because, on my 2000, there is no visible resistor pellet for the VATS...unless it'* inside the key... :?
