Now would probably be a good time to bring this up again:

I use a piece of vacuum hose. Clear, black..whatever.. the way Dillcc mentions it is the way I change a t stat and rarely have any on the ground at all.
|
I read the techinfo article, and I definitely don't have access to a drill. Is drilling the thermostat a really important part of that process?
|
Not at all.. in fact.. I haven't drilled one since the new setup on my car.
|
I got the tubing, container, and i can't find that stupid drain plug! :x my manual has a picture of it, but it's the worst picture ever taken and I can't even discern where it is. does anyone by any chance have a decent pic of it, or maybe a better description than stupid haynes...
EDIT: Okay sorry, I searched and I guess I'm not the only one who thinks it's hard to find and I found pictures. But I guess I'm unclear where I siphon the coolant out of. Is it the radiator cap? Thanks. Sorry about the whining. |
Yeah, radiator cap. Be sure to stick the tubing in far enough into the radiator to be below the level of the thermostat. Use a clean container so you can reuse the fluid.
I have found that drilling one tiny hole in the t-stat really helps greatly in burping all the air out...if you can borrow a drill from the neighbor, do it. |
I'm sure any member here would be willing to drill the holes in the stat and mail it back to you.
|
Sounds like she's working on it today Haro...
Honestly..there's no "need" for a hole. |
got it done, thanks SO much guys!
