You'll likely find that the UIM is OK. You will be VERY surprised at the condition of the lowers. I did my lowers the first time around at 77K. They were a mess to say the least....

It must be only the Series 2 lowers that had issues. Or maybe the way dex-cool reacted with them. My lowers were perfect at 100k when they came out.

Make sure you send in that core to Bob Dillon.

so are you supposed to change the whole manifold assembly when the gaskets are done?

my mechanic said you're not supposed to.. along with the lower pcv o-ring isn't supposed to be there, but yet without the o-ring, it made a horrible hissing, willwren gave me pics of his WITH an o ring, my brothers 3800 MCSS has one on it, and to top it off, it'* still losing fluids

is it supposed to be changed and how much is the part

Have you read ANYthing about the UIM failures on the VinK motors? Not changing that UIM could eventually cost you the entire motor. It has for a dozen or so members here in 3 years.

And what pic did I send you? I don't recall that.

Your mechanic isn't very 3800 savvy apparently, and your friend with the MCSS....is he supercharged or not? If not, he'* got serious issues that are going to cost him his motor. I suggest he join our Forum ASAP.
