Thought some might enjoy the findings of a ASE certified inspector on a 2001 Olds Bravada, Southern California vehicle.

Not sure if this will show up on this thread, but a 32 page inspection, a very useful document.

Yes, and I suspect more. The AWD transfer cases on these are known for failure if not updated to revised fluid, and flushed twice with revised fluid, a 3k repair at a dealer. Based on other maintenance issues, I suspect it has more hidden issues than the inspector identified, but he did a great job and exactly what I needed to know. Dealer said car needed nothing; was in great shape. The Carfax showed one owner, almost all its life in southern California. I was excited. What the inspector really uncovered was it was owned by a person who didn't perform needed maintenance, which equates to a vehicle I don't want to a vehicle I don't want to drive 2200 miles back to the Midwest. I can find plenty of maintenance neglected vehicles much closer.

it smart to spend that. it kind of looks like it was left out on the beach for 5 yrs

$185.00 Talked to the guy, he was sharp. He was originally from upstate New York, understood my concerns and mission. Well worth the money spent, but can't spend many more inspections. I need to better screen a vehicle needed a inspection.
