Default Supercharger quick fix

While window shopping in the junkyard (Man'* Mall) this morning, I came about a very interesting repair done to a 1993 Buick Park Ave Ultra. In this case, it was the M63 supercharger. Was this repair done because the supercharger seized up? I didn't have a knife with me so I couldn't have cut the belt off.

If you look just a tad to the right of the pulley in the first picture, you can see where they ground down the snout to make the pulley fit.
