Default Got my oil analysis....

Thoughts??

I'd like to put a couple more thousand on it if I'm not in danger of killing the motor far from home. Ideally if I KNEW for SURE I had to change it out, I'd drive the thing to Intense and swap in an L32. I've changed up to a 3.4" pulley for the time being as well.

Here'* the other thread for reference:

Your Moly and Calcium are a bit higher than expected. Otherwise..it looks like they are telling you to DRIVE ON DUDE!

And uh.. take it easy for a while.

Interesting Bob; I don't have much to comment and what was & wasn't found. That’* a lot of useful, cool info though. Be easy on her and build some trust; God knows I'm going to be weary of my car for a little while after I get it back.

Moly-be-damned is often used as a sort of synthetic grease or other lube, and it'* getting flushed out of your engine.
This could also explain why some of the other metal/material counts are higher than normal, companies put all sorts of stuff into lubes/greases.
I couldnt tell you one way or another if this is harmful to your engine or not. Best err on the side of caution though, I wouldnt be going on any cross country voyages soon.

Moly is a common additive in lubricants.
It would be useful to have an analysis on virgin oil.

you know what, I showed this to a few car buffs at work, remember, I work in a Truck Shop and am surrounded by people that live for this stuff, they said, just drive it. Plain and simple.

Thanks for your guys' help/comments. Yeah I'll definitely take 'er easy for a while. The miles will take a while to accumulate now that the weather is going downhill. I intended to keep this car garaged for a lot of the winter - only driving it on snowless roads if possible but driving/running it to temp a MINIMUM of once per week.

The silicon could be a dirty air filter. You may want to check that out.

I put on a new K&N 9" cone back in February and it has about 6000 miles on it. I'll take a look at it though.
